Every book Vince has written or edited does the same essential work: recovering overlooked history and returning it to the communities it belongs to.

• A Multitude of All Peoples (InterVarsity Press Academic) — His best-known work, tracing the multiethnic roots of the church and arguing that Christianity has always been more global than Western accounts suggest.

• Gospel Haymanot (UMI) — The core text behind Vince's scriptural framework, rooted in the Afro-rooted Gospel Haymanot tradition.

• The Bisrat (Jude 3 Project) — Published in partnership with the Jude 3 Project, continuing his engagement with African Christian theology.

• Those for Whom the Lamp Shines (University of California Press, 2023) — An examination of Egyptian ethnicity in Late Antiquity and how Christian communities in Egypt shaped their identity.

• Power, Agency, and Women in the Mission of God (Pickwick Publications, 2024) — Co-edited with Susan L. Maros and Kirsteen Kim, bringing together intercultural perspectives on women's roles in the mission of God.

He's also contributed chapters to volumes published by Cambridge University Press, Palgrave Macmillan, Yale University Press, and Wipf & Stock.

Vince founded the Society of Gospel Haymanot in 2019, gathering academics, ministers, and practitioners around Afro-rooted theology and the universal Lordship of Jesus. He also serves as Katabi (editor) of the society's peer-reviewed Haymanot Journal, publishing original research and scriptural reflection from scholars in the African Christian tradition.

Talks, Lectures & Media

Whether addressing a graduate seminar at Oxford or a community gathering in St. Louis, Vince brings the same combination of academic precision and pastoral heart to every audience. He's lectured at Oxford University, Princeton, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Dumbarton Oaks, and HBCUs and state universities across the U.S. and abroad.

He's also a frequent podcast guest, with appearances on The Biblical Mind, the Jude 3 Project Podcast, Where Ya From, and That Makes Total Sense, and in 2024 appeared in the History Channel's Holy Marvels documentary series, covering both the "Crucifixion Relics" and "Sacred Undergrounds" episodes.
